Known as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, Tuscany (Italian: Toscana) is a region in central Italy which borders the regions of Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Umbria and Lazio. Its coastline lies on the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The regional capital is Florence (Firenze). Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, art, as well as for its production of world-wide known wines, including Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino.
With seven localities designated World Heritage Site and over 120 protected nature reserves, Tuscany and its capital Florence attract millions of tourists every year. It is one of the most popular regions to spend your yachting holidays all year round.

Why is Tuscany a Popular Sailing Destination?
Tuscany has a western coastline on the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Sea and a Tuscan Archipelago, and sailing a yacht is an excellent way to visit those sea pearls.
The marinas of Tuscany where you can charter a sailboat, a motor yacht or a catamaran - such as Marina di Scarlino, Marina di Salivoli, Marina Cala di Medici, Marina di Punta Ala - and several other marinas and bigger ports are well-equipped, and most of them provide a full range of services, including refueling facilities and parking. The marinas are open all year round and the climate in the coastal areas is fairly mild, typically Mediterranean, warm, dry and breezy, and you can hire your boat there almost all year round. However, best months are April, May, June, September and October.
So get ready, take a glass of Chianti and sail away to Tuscan sunset!
